Semillistas at the Sulayr Festival 2025

For the fifth consecutive year, the Semillistas Association participated in the Sulayr Festival, held every summer in the beautiful village of Pampaneira, in the Alpujarra region of Granada. This festival, which weaves together culture, art, ecology, and community, has become an essential meeting point for projects committed to caring for the land and the relationships that sustain it.

On July 4th and 5th, we had an informational stand where we shared our work, publications, ongoing campaigns, and ecological restoration projects in different territories. It was a joy to reconnect with people who know us from previous editions and to meet many new attendees curious and interested in environmental regeneration initiatives.

In addition to the stand, we led three activities as part of the official festival program:

In the morning, we held a deep ecology workshop inspired by “work that reconnects.” Around ten participants reflected collectively on the emotions stirred by the current state of the world and how we can transform pain and concern into active commitment to life.

In the afternoon, our colleague Daniel Calatayud delivered a talk and debate on reforestation and the carbon credit market. About twenty people engaged in a lively exchange on how these models are implemented, their social and ecological implications, and the questions they raise in local communities.

Finally, we closed the day with the “Diverse Forest” workshop, a body-focused experience exploring our connection to nature through movement. Through group dynamics, visualizations, and body awareness, participants connected with the mountainous landscape and the group’s diversity in a mindful and sensitive closing.

At Semillistas, we deeply value these spaces where we can share knowledge, build alliances, and feel part of a broader movement advocating for a different way of inhabiting the world.

We warmly thank the Sulayr Festival organizers and the Pampaneira Town Council for their hospitality and for making this edition possible. We return home with hearts full of conversations, ideas, and motivation to keep moving forward.

See you at the next gathering!
